Musk’s announcement a day earlier that the US-based electric carmaker would not build in India until it was allowed to sell and service its cars in the nation prompted Aggarwal’s tweet on Saturday.

“Tesla will not put a manufacturing plant in any location where we are not allowed first to sell & service cars,” Musk tweeted on Friday.

Tesla’s admission into the country has been on hold since 2019, due to the government’s refusal to accept the company’s desire for a reduction in import tariffs. India imposes a 60% import charge on electric vehicles with a price of $40,000 or less, and a 100% levy if the price is higher.

Aggarwal’s announcement comes as the local EV maker hunts for locations to develop cells and electric vehicles. Ola Electric would need 1,000 acres of land to build the facilities, which are expected to cost Rs 10,000 crore.

In the district of Lalitpur, an investigation was launched and all officers on duty at the time of the incident were reprimanded. Separately 4 men were arrested for kidnapping and raping a 13-year-old girl in Madhya Pradesh in April.

The case was filed at Pali police station, where the youngster was persuaded by four males and driven to Bhopal on April 22, where she was allegedly raped, according to news agency ANI. She eventually escaped and returned to her home, where she went to the police station to file a complaint. According to ANI, the station in charge allegedly raped the minor before handing her over to the Childline Welfare Committee.

The NGO approached the police superintendent, who intervened and an FIR was filed on Tuesday.

Officials told PTI that all Pali police officers have been dispatched to the police lines.

The issue was further aggravated when it was announced that the girl was a Dalit. Dalits belong to the lower caste and have experienced discrimination in society. Although the law was abolished in 1950, there are still some areas that practice these customs.

Bhanu Bhaskar, additional director general of police for Kanpur zone, said DIG Jogendra Kumar of Jhansi has been instructed to examine the case and submit a report within 24 hours.

“While the SHO has been suspended, all policemen of Pali police station in Lalitpur have been sent to police lines,” Bhaskar said, adding that strict action will be taken against the guilty policemen.

India’s Enforcement Directorate, the country’s principal financial investigation agency, accused Xiaomi’s Indian business of breaking foreign exchange laws by sending “illegal remittances” in a statement released on Friday.

According to the agency, Xiaomi India “had remitted foreign currency equivalent to [55.5 billion rupees, $726 million] to three foreign-based businesses, including one Xiaomi group firm in the guise of royalty,” acting on the directions of its parent company.

Xiaomi began operations in India in 2014 and began remitting money a year later, according to the agency. Indian police have now confiscated a similar amount of money “located in the company’s bank accounts.”

“Xiaomi India buys fully assembled mobile phones and other products from Indian producers,” the Enforcement Directorate said. “The three foreign-based businesses to whom such sums have been sent have not provided any service to Xiaomi India,” the agency noted.

The corporation was also accused of supplying “misleading information to the banks while remitting the money abroad,” according to the suit.

“All our operations are strictly comply with local laws and regulations,” Xiaomi India, which distributes Mi-branded devices, said in a statement. The firm stated on Twitter on Saturday that it felt the royalty payments and bank statements were “all authentic and truthful.”

“In-licensed technologies and IPs used in our India version products” were the reason for the payments.

Since border tensions between the world’s two most populous countries erupted two years ago, India has been tough on Chinese enterprises. India banned around 200 applications in 2020, many of which were Chinese, including TikTok, the enormously popular video platform.

This is badtameezee (insolence). It’s like you are rubbing salt on their wounds. If I was in their place, I would try to rehabilitate the Kashmiri Pandits. I have spoken to many Kashmiri Pandits, they are angry with the BJP,” Mr. Kejriwal said.

Another one urged netizens to stop “wasting money” on Bollywood celebs. “So, the latest to mock the Kashmiri Pandit genocide is Twinkle Khanna. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat praises ‘The Kashmir Files’ movie, saying it has created public awareness across the country and outside about the reality behind the exodus of Kashmiri pandits from the valley in 1990.

Kashmiri pandits will be able to return to their homes in the valley soon, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat said on Sunday, asserting that work is on to create a conducive atmosphere so that they are never displaced again.

Returning to the Valley

Addressing members of the Kashmiri pandit community virtually on the last day of the three-day ‘Navreh’ celebrations, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief said that the time has come for fulfilling the pledge of returning to their homes in the Kashmir valley.

“It won’t take many days for the fulfillment of our pledge of returning to the valley. It will come true very soon and we have to continue making attempts in this direction. Our history and our great leaders should serve as the guiding light and inspiration for all of us,” Bhagwat said in his over half-an-hour speech.

Referring to his participation in the Kashmiri pandit festival ‘Herath’ (Shivaratri) in 2011 in Delhi, he said the community had taken a pledge on the occasion that they will return to their homeland.

“Challenges do come in everyone’s life … We are in a situation where we were displaced in our own country three-four decades ago. What is the solution?? he said and added, “We will not succumb and see our pledge fulfilled by returning to our homes.”

He referred to Israel and said the Jews struggled for 1800 years for their homeland. “Nothing much was done in 1700 years by them for their pledge, but over the past 100 years, the history of Israel saw it achieving its target and also becoming one of the leading countries in the world.”

“We (Kashmiri pandits) have had to live in different parts of the globe despite the fact that Kashmir is an integral part of India. We can live anywhere but we cannot forget our homeland,” he said.

Bhagwat said ‘The Kashmir Files’ movie has highlighted the reality of Kashmiri pandits before the world.

He said the removal of Article 370 “opened the way for the return of the pandits to the Kashmir valley”.

“The time for your return to the valley as a Hindu and a ‘Bharat Bakt’ is approaching, you have faced displacement in the past but in the future, nothing like this should happen with you,” he said.

According to The Quint, it is morphed or a photoshop as the vandalism was very clear. The words ‘The Kashmir Files Is Not A Lie, It’s Horrifying Truth’ come from a poster released by the film overlayed at the gate.

Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) members, including Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya, stormed and vandalized the gate of the chief minister’s residence on Wednesday, 30 March.

This was in protest against Kejriwal’s remarks on Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’, where he called on Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters to join the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as they would be respected and not be asked: “to paste posters of films.”

The visuals shared by the AAP leaders as well as news media organizations only show red paint on the gate without the title of the film.

NCP chief Sharad Pawar on Thursday accused the BJP of creating a “poisonous atmosphere” by spreading “false propaganda” about the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Kashmir Valley.

The Congress, too, had attacked the BJP for promoting the movie. The party’s communication department head Randeep Surjewala had accused the government of trying to spread hatred in society through the movie.

Pawar said that Kashmiri Pandits did, indeed, have to flee the Valley, but he pointed out that Muslims, too, were targeted in a similar manner. “Pakistan-based terror groups were responsible for the attacks on Kashmiri Pandits and Muslims,” he said.

Pawar’s remarks come at a time when the feeling that his party is going soft on the BJP was gaining ground within the Shiv Sena, the NCP’s ally in Maharashtra’s ruling coalition.

Pawar also criticized the BJP for dragging Jawaharlal Nehru into the debate over Kashmir. He argued that it was V P Singh who was PM when the exodus of Kashmir Pandits began.

“The V P Singh government was backed by the BJP. Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was the home minister and Jagmohan, who later contested the Lok Sabha polls from Delhi as a BJP candidate, was the governor of Jammu and Kashmir,” Pawar said. He added that the then J&K chief minister Farooq Abdullah had quit following differences with Jagmohan and that it was the governor who facilitated the departure of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley.

Western media have reported the plights of Muslims experiencing abuse from the Hindus as they brave to watch the theaters. Many organizations have held press conferences saying this was a political move and it disturbs the peace.

What could have been missed in these reports is that this has been a part of history. Just like the Titanic, Jack and Rose probably did not exist but the story might have. It is also a part of history that shows us the real emotions people felt experiencing that strategy. It gives us awareness and triggers compassion for their plight but it also makes us appreciate their lives.

The Kashmir Files is no different. It shows us the feelings of the people who have been part of the exodus. They trigger emotions as they share their stories in life, it is a part of history that happened to bring us to where we are today.

According to the Times, this was political. “Social media is flooded with videos of members of the audience erupting in rousing hate speeches after seeing the film, with calls for the slaughter of Muslims and a boycott of Muslim businesses. Often, these speeches are staged by Hindu vigilante organizations ideologically allied with Modi’s government. In a climate of growing intolerance, where exclusion and marginalization of Muslims have become mainstream political discourse, the movie is making Indian Muslims even more fearful.”

“The “truth” that the film claims to reveal is that there was a “genocide” of Pandits in the 1990s, hidden by a callous ruling establishment and a servile media. Pandits were killed in their thousands, it claims, and not in the low hundreds as the government and Kashmiri Pandit organizations have stated.”

Be it hundreds or thousands, it is still genocide and no one deserved to die under that circumstance. As the West depicts it as a political move, for us it is a part of history we are being aware of and we could learn from it.

A logo unveiling ceremony was held today in Icon Siam Mall, Bangkok. H.E. Mr. Don Pramudwinai, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand, and Ms. Suchitra Durai, Ambassador of India to Thailand, jointly presided over the logo unveiling ceremony and felicitated the winners of the logo design contest.  Around 50 dignitaries and guests, representing the Thai Parliament, the Thai government, diplomatic corps, Indian Diaspora, businesses, and media, attended the ceremony. Community members throw brightly colored powder and water balloons at each other community organized performances such as singing, dancing, and cultural events.

In India, the festival is held over two days. On the first, families pray and sing and dance around a bonfire which symbolizes cleansing. On the second day, participants take to the streets to douse each other with colored powder while firing water pistols and throwing water balloons.

The colored powders, known as gulal, were traditionally made from natural sources like turmeric and indigo and believed to have healing properties.

Now they are typically made from synthetic materials and are colored bright yellow, pink, green, red, blue, and various colors of the rainbow.

The Holi celebration has cultural importance in the Indian subcontinent’s Hindu traditions. It is a joyful day to reflect on and correct previous mistakes, to resolve issues by meeting new people, and to forget and forgive. It is a known risk among nuclear-armed neighbors that accidents or miscalculations could occur. The neighbors have been involved in three wars. Mostly it is centered on the much-disputed Kashmir territory. This is the first of its kind in years, raising a question of safety mechanisms.

Indian Ministry of Defense released an official statement after the accidental launch. “On 9 March 2022, in the course of routine maintenance, a technical malfunction led to the accidental firing of a missile.”

“It is learned that the missile landed in an area of Pakistan. While the incident is deeply regrettable, it is also a matter of relief that there has been no loss of life due to the accident.”

The ministry said the government had “taken a serious view and ordered a high-level Court of Enquiry.”

Pakistan reported that the missile was unarmed and has crashed on the country’s eastern city of Mian Channu. It is located about 500 kilometers (310 miles) from the capital, Islamabad.

Pakistan also issued a warning to India. “Be mindful of the unpleasant consequences of such negligence and take effective measures to avoid the recurrence of such violations in future.”

Ayesha Siddiqa tweeted “India-Pak should be talking about risk mitigation”.

“Both states have remained confident about control of nuclear weapons but what if such accidents happen again & with more serious consequences?”

Although no official identification was given, Pakistani officials suspected it was a BrahMos missile. This is a nuclear-capable, land-attack cruise missile jointly developed by Russia and India.

एक भारतीय श्री राजकुमार, उम्र 49, खमुआह भट्ट गांव, गोरखपुर निवासी कई वर्षों से थाईलैंड में रह रहे थे। लगभग 5 महीने पहले श्री राजकुमार को लकवा मार दिया और नियति की क्रूर चोट ने उन्हें लाचार बना दिया। उन्हें अस्पताल ले जाने वाला भी कोई नही था। ऐसे कठिन समय में राचाबुरी पुलिस स्टेशन ने मानवीय संवेदनाओं की लाज रखते हुए उन्हें आनन-फानन में राचाबुरी अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया। श्री राजकुमार काफी समय बिस्तर पर सीमित थे और अस्पताल ने भी उन्हें बाकी इलाज घर से चलाये रखने की सलाह देते हुए डिस्चार्ज कर दिया।
वक़्त की मार ने कुछ ही समय में श्री राजकजमार की मुश्किलें बढ़ दीं और उनकी बिगड़ती तबीयत को देखते हुए उनके भारत वापस जाने की नौबत तक आ गयी। भारत में उनके परिवार को इसकी जानकारी न थी और यहां थाईलैंड के उनके मित्र या तो मदद को सामने नही आये या कुछ उन तक पहुंच नही पाए। ऐसे समय में एक बार फिर राचाबुरी पुलिस स्टेशन श्री राजकुमार के साथ खड़ा था परंतु वो भी समझ नही पा रहे थे कि आगे क्या किया जाए। उन्होंने इंडो-थाई न्यूज़ के प्रतिनिधि श्री जिमी मिश्रा जो जय श्री राम संस्थान के युवा सामाजिक कार्यकर्ता से संपर्क किया।

श्री जिम्मी कुछ ऐसी ही परिस्तिथियों का सामना पूर्व में कर चुके थे और वह समझते थी कि ऐसे में क्या किया जा सकता है। श्री जिम्मी जी के साहस और इंडो-थाई न्यूज़ और जय श्री राम संस्थान की मदद से श्री राजकुमार को निकटतम वृद्धाश्रम में शिफ्ट कराया गया। वृद्धाश्रम के कर्मचारियों के समर्पित सेवा भावना से श्री राजकुमार की सेहत में सुधार दिखने लगा। श्री जिम्मी ये समझ रहे थे कि श्री राजकुमार की सेहत में सुधार परिवार के बीच उत्तरोत्तर हो सकती है। इस संबंध में इंडो-थाई न्यूज़ और जय श्री राम संस्थान से परामर्श करके श्री जिम्मी ने इस कार्य का बीड़ा उठाया। राचाबुरी पुलिस स्टेशन ने कागज़ी कार्यवाही दुरुस्त करने में मदद की और श्री राजकुमार के किये सब अच्छा होता दिख रहा था। ऐसे में काफी कठिनाइयों के बाद श्री राजकुमार सभी कागज़ात के साथ एयरलाइन से उड़ान भरने को तैयार थे। इस आपाधापी में ‘फिट टू फ्लाई’ सर्टिफिकेट के खो जाने के चलते श्री राजकुमार को फ्लाइट न सिर्फ छोड़नी पड़ी बल्कि कुछ दिन और वृद्धाश्रम में समय काटना पड़ा जबतक सारे जरूरी कागजात फिरसे तैयार न किये जा सकें। ईश्वर की कृपा दृष्टि और सबके अथक प्रयास ने रंग लाया और अंततः श्री राजकुमार सारे कागज़ात के साथ अपने वतन वापस लौटे और अपने परिवार के बीच पहुंच गए।

श्री राजकुमार अब अपने परिवार के साथ दिल्ली, भारत में हैं और उनकी सेहत में भी काफी सुधार है। इस घटना से विश्वास होता है कि मानवता अभी भी करुणा और दया की भावना बचाये हुए है। श्री राजकुमार की कहानी यह दिखाती है कि बुरे वक्त में अक्सर अनजान भी मदद को आगे आते हैं। राचाबुरी पुलिस विभाग के त्वरित प्रक्रिया और श्री जिम्मी मिश्रा जैसे जिम्मेदार नागरिक के प्रयास ने चमत्कार ही कर दिया। फ़रिश्ते इंसानी दिल में आज भी बस्ते हैं।

In her remarks, the Ambassador expressed her delight at the opportunity to gift these volumes to Thailand’s National Library on diverse aspects of India. She also expressed India’s intention to cooperate closely with Thailand and develop stronger relationships with the Thai people. India has had tremendous progress in the last decade, not just in the digital technology sector but also in other vital socioeconomic areas, opening up countless opportunities for India and Thailand to strengthen and nurture their partnership.

Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced that the central bank is planning to introduce the new currency. It is set to begin in the new fiscal year by April “using blockchain and other technologies”. This is expected to boost India’s thriving digital economy.

Since Prime Minister Narendra Modi withdrew the country’s two largest rupee banknotes in late 2016, digital payments have exploded in popularity in India. Local competitors like Paytm have jumped onboard India’s cashless payments craze. Several of the world’s largest internet corporations, including Google (GOOGL) and Facebook (FB) joined.

Other big economies are moving through with their own plans to introduce virtual versions of their own currencies as well. For the past two years, China has been testing its digital yuan in key cities. Athletes, officials, and media attending the Beijing Winter Olympics this month have only three payment options.

Both Europe and the United States have been looking at the possibility of a digital euro and digital dollar. While both have emphasized the significance of minimizing the financial risk that any e-currency poses.

For years, India has voiced worry about cryptocurrencies and how to effectively manage digital assets. Sometimes even toying with a crypto ban. Last year, a cryptically phrased proposal on the Indian parliament’s website claimed that the government was considering “prohibiting all private cryptocurrencies in India.”

Indian actor and activist Deep Sidhu dies in a car crash Tuesday, according to police officials. He was 37. He is known to back the country’s year-long farmer’s movement. Sonipat Police senior official Virender Singh announced the news. Sidhu’s car crashed into the rear end of a truck in the northern state of Haryana. He died on the spot, Singh said.

Born in Punjab state, Sidhu started his career as a model before landing a role in the film Ramta Jogi in 2015. He was a vocal supporter of India’s farmer’s movement. The movement saw tens of thousands of farmers camp for months on the outskirts of the capital Delhi. They were protesting against three laws implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government that they said could ruin their livelihood. In a rare retreat, Modi repealed the laws in November last year.

Sidhu’s role in the farmer’s movement was allegedly instigating violence during a Republic Day rally on January 26, 2021. He was arrested in February last year on suspicion of inciting protesters during the rally. He was granted bail after spending about 70 days in police custody.

Punjab’s Chief Minister Charanjit Channi said “My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family and fans.”

The Accident

The accident happened near Kharkhoda toll around 9:30 pm, the police said. Police were looking for the driver of the 22-tire truck that was parked on the expressway. What caused the accident is not yet known. It is also not yet clear whether the recovery of a liquor bottle has any connection with the incident. The photographs of the accident scene show Deep Sidhu’s vehicle badly mangled on the driver’s side. Deep Sidhu was accompanied by an NRI (non-resident Indian) friend, Reena Rai, who survived the accident. Police were questioning her to ascertain what led to the accident.

“Lahiri had been admitted to the hospital for a month and was discharged on Monday. But his health deteriorated on Tuesday and his family called for a doctor to visit their home. He was brought to the hospital. Mr. Lahiri had multiple health issues. He died due to OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) shortly before midnight,” Dr. Deepak Namjoshi, director of the hospital said.

The singer’s last appearance on the screen was with Salman Khan on a reality show Bigg Boss 15, where he was promoting his grandson Swastik’s new song ‘Baccha Party’.

“Today we lost another gem from the music industry… Bappi Da, your voice was the reason for millions to dance, including me. Thank you for all the happiness you brought through your music. My heartfelt condolences to the family. Om Shanti” wrote Akshay Kumar.

Veteran actor Chiranjeevi posted a throwback with the legend and wrote: “Deeply anguished at the demise of legendary music director and singer Bappi Lahiri. I had a great association with Bappi da. He gave numerous chartbusters for me, which contributed immensely to my film’s popularity. He will always be remembered for his unique style and his great enthusiasm for life which is reflected in his music. My heartfelt condolences to all his near and dear.”

“I wish you joy wherever you go Bappi da because that’s what you brought to the world through your music and your being. Love always, Bidda (as you’d so endearingly call me),” wrote Vidya Balan.

Last January 26, a 20-year-old victim was abducted, physically, and sexually abused. Delhi police arrested 12 suspects and 8 of them are women. There are no current charges regarding the incident.

Chairperson of the Delhi Commission of Women Swati Maliwal said that the woman told her she was raped by three men. “There were women present (in the room) …instigating the men to be more brutal with her,” she added. “When I saw that video and I saw these women attacking this girl…it just makes you feel so angry and sad that you have such women who can do something like that.”

The victim’s 18-year-old sister watched the scene unfold in horror. “I was thinking of shouting, of telling someone, but the (accused) women grabbed me, saying they would beat me up,” she said.

Her sister delivered a bag of wheat to her house on the morning of January 26. Her sister came down to collect it when an angry mod rushed towards them. “They started hitting and beating my sister. This was happening in front of me, but I just stood there, I didn’t know what to do…I was frozen with fear,” she said. The group tried to snatch her sister’s two-and-a-half-year-old son, but she “somehow fought them off” and held onto him as the group bundled her sister in an autorickshaw.

The rickshaw stopped at the alleged perpetrators’ house, but she couldn’t see her sister, she went inside her own home and latched the door. Soon after, she heard the commotion outside, and from behind a wall watched her sister being led through the street as women hit her with rods.

Her hair had been cut off, her face blackened, and she had a garland of slippers around her neck — all actions meant to mark her as perhaps deserving of public shame.

R Sathiyasundaram, the deputy police commissioner of Shahdara district, said the investigation is still underway and would not say which laws the alleged perpetrators had been arrested under.

The pressure of their responsibility to their family increases. The lack of money breeds disrespects in their ability as well as issues in their marriages.

The lack of permanent jobs leads to questions regarding their ability to have a family. This makes them angry about the time they invested in education programs. Their continuous search for jobs and often disappointment in finding one discourage them further.

Now that India’s youth also begin to have a family of their own, their children are often struggling to understand the gap. There seems to be a huge market for jobs but why is it a struggle to get one. Many are now more cautious to choose a new course of action in their studies. They are wanting to explore options that are unavailable to the old market. Among the examples is the EV industry, Digital Solutions, or even IT programming. These courses were previously unavailable to the older generations.

In the next few years, India is planning to create six million jobs in the next five years. No details on which industry but in recent reports, India is looking at the EV market. They are aiming to be a hub of electric vehicle production. This is a new industry that is not available to any generation. Joining courses on these could greatly increase one’s chance of employment.
