Thailand’s Foreign Minister Begins Official Visit to India

New Delhi, India — Thailand’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Sihasak Phuangketkeow, has begun his first official visit to India, marking a new chapter in bilateral relations and regional cooperation between the two countries. The four-day visit, which runs until December 2, aims to deepen strategic ties and expand collaboration across political, economic, and security spheres.

During his engagements on November 30, Minister Sihasak met with leading Indian scholars and policy experts from prominent think tanks such as CSEP, India Foundation, and NatStrat. The discussions highlighted shared priorities in navigating today’s geopolitical challenges and reaffirmed the strong cultural, historical, and diplomatic bonds between Thailand and India.

Officials from both sides explored ways to boost cooperation in bilateral and multilateral frameworks, enhance connectivity between South Asia and Southeast Asia, and strengthen joint security efforts. Perspectives were also exchanged on regional issues, including border developments and evolving situations within neighboring countries.

The visit continues today with a key meeting scheduled at 6 PM at Hyderabad House, where Minister Sihasak will hold bilateral talks with India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar. The dialogue is expected to focus on reinforcing mutual interests and expanding the long-standing partnership between the two nations.

This diplomatic trip underscores Thailand and India’s commitment to working closely on shared goals that contribute to regional stability, connectivity, and sustainable development.
