Here’s What You Need to Know About Bangkok’s Air Quality Health Advisory

Bangkok, Thailand — Bangkok’s air quality this morning has reached levels that may affect health. The Bangkok Air Quality Data Center reports an average PM2.5 level of 45 µg/m³, above the safe standard of 37.5 µg/m³. Currently, 58 areas across the city exceed safe levels, placing them in the “orange” category.

Top 12 Districts with Highest PM2.5 Levels:

  1. Bang Rak – 55.3 µg/m³

  2. Sathorn – 54.6 µg/m³

  3. Lat Krabang – 54.6 µg/m³

  4. Nong Khaem – 53 µg/m³

  5. Ratchathewi – 52.4 µg/m³

  6. Pathumwan – 51.9 µg/m³

  7. Taling Chan – 51.4 µg/m³

  8. Khlong Sam Wa – 50.3 µg/m³

  9. Thawi Watthana – 50.3 µg/m³

  10. Bang Kho Laem – 50 µg/m³

  11. Bang Phlat – 49.7 µg/m³

  12. Phasi Charoen – 49.2 µg/m³

Health Advice

  • General public – Wear a PM2.5 mask outdoors, limit strenuous outdoor activity, and monitor for symptoms such as coughing, eye irritation, or difficulty breathing.

  • At-risk groups – Avoid outdoor activity, wear protective masks at all times outdoors, and seek medical attention if symptoms occur.

Air Quality Forecast

  • 1–2 & 7 December: Weak air circulation due to ground-level inversion may increase PM2.5 concentrations.

  • 3–6 December: Strong winds from high-pressure systems may reduce pollution levels.

Hotspot Update

  • A single heat hotspot was detected on 30 November in Si Kan, Don Mueang District, currently under verification.
