Dial 100 Review

The story of Dial 100, which emanates from the millions of phone calls that come to the police control room every day, fails due to weak script and direction. Thrill is weak here and all the secrets are revealed in a short time. In such a situation, the enthusiasm and enthusiasm of the audience does not last long.

A phone call turns into a complicated puzzle for PI Nikhil Sood (Manoj Bajpayee), a senior-ranking PI in Mumbai’s Emergency Police Department. He is on night duty and his son does not listen to his mother (Sakshi Tanwar). Goes to parties late at night. Sood is neither able to give time to the son nor to the wife. So how did he solve the matter? Things get complicated when the caller Seema Pallav (Neena Gupta) asks a strange question: Are you a good police officer. Have you ever taken a bribe? She says that if the person protecting the normal people starts abusing them, then his punishment should be more than the normal. The story opens with increasing suspense that Seema has lost her young son sometime back and the reason for this is a rich young man. Who drove the car on Seema’s son while intoxicated with drugs. She wants revenge on that young man. But what does this have to do with Nikhil, his wife and son?

Writer-director Rensil D’Silva’s Dial 100, which released on Zee5, builds on a straightforward plot. There are no twists and turns or ups and downs. The scenes and dialogues are long in this story of a few hours of a night. Seema Pallava’s grief of losing his son comes back again and again. There is not only depression and anger in losing a son. He should kill those who are the cause of this pain. But while talking on the phone, Nikhil Sood asks him whether doing this will reduce the pain and if he has to die then why did he dial 100. One dials this number when, while moving towards the accident, there is some hope in it because life is beautiful. It cannot be ended in a jiffy.

D’Silva has put some twists and turns in the story but it doesn’t add to the excitement. The result is that Dial 100 turns into a superficial story. Nowadays Manoj Bajpayee is becoming Colonel, Secret Agent, ACP, DCP, DIG, Constable in every second-third film. The diversity of his expressions is missing in these characters. In the performances of Neena Gupta and Sakshi Tanwar, there is nothing to remember here. Screenplay, dialogue and editing demands finesse along with direction. Dial 100 focuses on Manoj Bajpayee and Neena Gupta.

In the first few minutes it becomes clear what is going to happen next. In a story, if the viewer can easily guess the next thing, then there is nothing much left to see in it. This accident happened with Dial 100. The climax of the film is not encouraging. Made with the total accumulated cast, this film remains as an average drama.
