Yaowarat Vegetarian Festival 2025 Returns with Cultural Celebration

The Yaowarat Vegetarian Festival 2025 has officially begun, transforming Bangkok’s Chinatown into a vibrant hub of tradition, spirituality, and culinary delight. The festival runs from October 20–29, 2025, celebrating 50 years of Thai–Chinese friendship and aiming to boost the local economy while preserving cultural heritage.

The opening ceremony, held at the Chaloem Phra Kiat 6th Cycle Birthday Gate on Yaowarat Road, was presided over by Ms. Sabeeda Thaiseth, Minister of Culture, with senior officials from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) and the Samphanthawong Cultural Council in attendance.

Highlights include the symbolic cooking of “50 Years of Thai–Chinese Friendship Stir-Fried Noodles”, distributed to over 1,500 visitors, and a grand parade featuring Guanyin Goddess floral floats, dragon and lion dances, and Chinese cultural performances.

Throughout the 10-day celebration, both sides of Yaowarat Road are filled with vegetarian food stalls offering clean, high-quality dishes, while special promotions and lucky draws from sponsors add to the excitement.

Open to locals and tourists alike, the Yaowarat Vegetarian Festival 2025 remains one of Bangkok’s most anticipated cultural events — a celebration of faith, unity, and friendship between Thailand and China.
