Bangkok, Thailand – Royal Danish Embassy in Bangkok presents “Leaders of Tomorrow,” a Thai–Danish street art collaboration celebrating women’s empowerment and gender equality in the lead-up to International Women’s Day on 8 March 2026. It builds on Bangkok’s dynamic street art movement and reinforces shared Thai-Danish ambitions for gender equality, cultural collaboration and vibrant public spaces.

From 1–6 March 2026, Danish street artist Stine Hvid and Thai street artist WARIS (Waritsara Juntacut) will create a permanent public mural at Building 1 (Futsal Court), Benchakitti Sports Center.

During their stay in Bangkok, the artists will be in residence at Bangkok 1899, a vibrant cultural & civic hub in the heart of the city. Established by Creative Migration in partnership with Na Projects, Bangkok 1899 bridges cultural and climate diplomacy to ignite community-driven action. The multidisciplinary residency program provides a dynamic space for exploration, inviting artists to define their own creative journeys while engaging with Thai creatives and local communities.

The project is implemented in collaboration with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA), supporting its vision to increase the visibility of women in public spaces and contribute to a more liveable, inclusive and inspiring Bangkok.
The mural will portray historical, contemporary and minority women leaders, serving as a lasting symbol of Danish–Thai friendship and a shared commitment to advancing gender equality and artistic freedom in public space.
