Bangkok, Thailand – In a significant step toward promoting Bihar’s spiritual heritage on the global stage, Bihar Foundation Hong Kong Chapter successfully organized the “Lotus Triangle Spiritual Tourism Mega Launch” in Bangkok on March 6, 2026. The event was held at Millennium Hilton Bangkok, located on Sukhumvit 21 Road, Khlong Toei Nuea, Watthana.
The event aimed to introduce Thailand’s travel industry and tourism stakeholders to Bihar’s renowned spiritual destinations — Bodh Gaya, Rajgir, and Vaishali — collectively promoted as the Lotus Triangle, highlighting the region’s deep-rooted spiritual, cultural, and historical significance.
The event saw the participation of a high-level delegation from Bihar, including:
- Mr. Aman Sameer, Director (MSME)
- Mr. Mukul Kumar Gupta, Director, Department of Industries
- Mr. Vikash Sarkar, Representative from Bihar Foundation
Their presence highlighted the government’s focus on promoting tourism alongside investment opportunities in the state.
Cultural Opening and Tourism Vision
The event commenced with a cultural performance, setting a spiritual and cultural tone for the gathering. Following this, Mr. Amit Kumar, President of the Bihar Foundation Hong Kong Chapter and Managing Director of The Sun Leisure World, addressed the audience.
In his remarks, he emphasized the immense potential of promoting Bihar tourism among travelers from Thailand, especially those interested in spiritual tourism and Buddhist heritage. He highlighted ongoing initiatives aimed at strengthening tourism connections between the two regions.
Support from the Embassy of India
Mr. R. Mutthu, Counselor at the Embassy of India in Thailand, also addressed the gathering. He shared useful insights regarding travel safety, immigration procedures, and visa processes for tourists planning to visit Gaya and other destinations in Bihar.
His remarks reassured travel industry representatives about the ease of travel and the support available for international visitors.
Bihar’s Tourism and Investment Opportunities
A detailed presentation was delivered by Mr. Nilesh Ramchandra Deore, Tourism Secretary of Bihar. He elaborated on the state government’s initiatives aimed at positioning Bihar as a preferred destination for tourism and investment.
The presentation showcased Bihar’s rich spiritual legacy, improved infrastructure, and the government’s long-term vision to attract international tourists, particularly from Southeast Asia.
