After a long tussle, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has finally announced his resignation from his post. Yeddyurappa has reached Raj Bhavan to submit his resignation to Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot. Yeddyurappa announced his resignation while delivering a speech at a function.
Yediyurappa said getting emotional, ‘I have decided to resign. I will meet the Governor after lunch. I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for allowing me to continue in office even after the age of 75. I will be involved in party building activities in future.
The special thing is that today two years of the tenure of Yeddyurappa government have been completed. Yeddyurappa bowed before the high command on the second anniversary of the government. Now who will be the next Chief Minister of Karnataka, it will be decided by tomorrow. There is news that the supervisors of BJP will go to Karnataka tomorrow. The name of the new Chief Minister will be stamped in the Legislative Party meeting here. After this the swearing-in ceremony will be organized in the evening.
The decision of the new CM of Karnataka will be taken by Tuesday evening. On the other hand, Mines Minister Murgesh Nirani and Organization Minister Mukund have come to Delhi in the Karnataka government. Murgesh Nirani is a Lingayat leader and MLA from Vilgi seat of Bagalkot for three consecutive terms. However, Yediyurappa is in favor of Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai for the next CM of the state. Whereas the central leadership wants to make either Murgesh Nirani and Prahlad Joshi as CM. Murgesh is the front runner in this. He is close to the RSS and is a Lingayat face.
In such a situation, everyone’s eyes are on who will now hand over the command of the BJP state. At the same time, a meeting is being held in New Delhi regarding the new CM of Karnataka, in which party President JP Nadda and Home Minister Amit Shah are also present. The names of Prahlad Joshi, BL Santosh, Laxman Savadi and Murugesh Nirani are included in the race for the post of Chief Minister of Karnataka.
