In Assam, sixteen thousand three hundred 38 hectares of crops have been submerged in flood waters with damage to 27 roads and two bridges. By the way, a large part of Assam gets flooded every year. But in this flood, the situation has gone from bad to worse. Because within a month, Assam has been flooded thrice. The flood has taken away everything. People are upset and restless.
Lakhs of people are battling the floods in Assam. In most parts of Assam, there are no villages left where houses have not been submerged. It is also raining heavily in Arunachal Pradesh and neighboring Bhutan.
According to the information released by the Flood Reporting and Information Management System, a total of 44 relief camps have been opened in the state. Where people are being helped by running relief distribution centers as well. According to one figure, a total of 3,63,135 people have been affected by heavy rains in the state.
According to the information, a total of 1,619 people, including 321 children, have been given shelter in these camps. At the same time, a total of 30,333.36 hectares of crop area has been completely destroyed due to floods. In the state, 621.34 quintals of rice, pulses and salt, 578.82 liters of mustard oil, 100 quintals of animal feed and other flood relief materials have been distributed by the administration to the people affected by the floods.
According to a report of the Central Water Commission, the water level of the Brahmaputra in Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Sonitpur, Goalpara, Kamrup and Dhubri districts remained in a flood condition at much above normal. While Barpeta, Vishwanath, Cachar, Chirang, Darang, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Jorhat, Kamrup, West Karbi Anglong, Lakhimpur, Majuli, Morigaon, Nagaon, Nalbari, Sivasagar, Sonitpur, South Salmara and Tinsukia districts were badly affected.
