Many states of the country including Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are facing heavy rains during the monsoon season. Many areas are in the grip of floods. Floods have wreaked havoc in Kota, Baran, Bundi, Jhalawar and Dholpur in Rajasthan. So far 12,900 houses have collapsed in Kota division, while 27 people have died. At the same time, there have been 12 deaths in Bundi, 6 in Kota, 7 in Baran and 2 in Jhalawar.

So far, 4 lakh hectares of crops across the state are expected to be affected by rain. The soybean crop has suffered the most. CM Ashok Gehlot said on Saturday that a survey is being conducted for the timely compensation to the affected people.

In some parts of Rajasthan, a flood-like situation has arisen due to release of 1.5 lakh cusecs of water from dams following incessant rains. In a village in Jhalawar district, a teenager died after the wall of his house collapsed following rain. Heavy rains have affected normal life in different areas of Hadoti area of ​​the state.

24 deaths so far in MP’s Gwalior and Chambal
The death toll in rain-related incidents in Gwalior and Chambal, which were hit by floods in MP, has risen to 24. During the next 24 hours, isolated heavy and light rains are expected over Bhopal, Gwalior, Chambal and Sagar belts.

Meteorologist PK Saha said that there will be heavy rains in Vidisha, Raisen, Rajgarh, Guna and Ashoknagar. Sehore, Shajapur, Agar, Neemuch, Mandsaur, Shivpuri, Datia, Sheopurkalan, Seoni, Sagar, Tikamgarh and Niwari districts may receive up to 5 inches of rain at isolated places.

In West Bengal, at least 6 districts are facing floods due to release of water from Damodar Valley Corporation Dam. Thousands of villagers of Hooghly district have taken shelter in relief camps. Due to the cyclonic flow, heavy rain is also expected in Jharkhand and Bihar on Sunday. The IMD said that in the next five days, light to heavy rains may occur at some places in Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh.

From Buxar to Patna in Bihar, the water level of river Ganga is rising rapidly. Ganga crossed the danger mark in Buxar and Bhojpur. Water has started reaching Diara area of ​​Patna. People have also started migrating from here. The Punpun River is in spate in the capital. Flood waters have entered many villages. The district administration team is patrolling around the dam.
