The Yogi Adityanath government has made it mandatory to produce a Covid-19-negative RT-PCR report for everyone coming to Uttar Pradesh from states which have a positivity rate of above three percent.
In a bid to control the pandemic in the state, the latest decision was taken by a team of nine officials of the Uttar Pradesh government in a meeting with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday.
According to the new guidelines, anyone coming to Uttar Pradesh will have to show a negative Covid-19 report which should not be older than four days.
The new rule will be applicable to anyone coming via air, road, or rail routes. People entering Uttar Pradesh in their personal vehicles will have to follow the protocol as well.
However, if people with double doses of vaccines will be spared from the new guidelines will be known once a new SOP is issued by the Uttar Pradesh administration.
Meanwhile, CM Yogi Adityanath has also directed the state officials to do rapid antigen tests and thermal scanning of everyone coming from a high-positivity state.
The CM has also ordered a more robust implementation of the “test, track and treat” policy and other Covid-19 protocols across the state.
Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh recorded 56 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, while 69 patients were discharged from the hospitals after they had recovered.
More than seven districts of the state have become corona-free, informed Additional Chief Secretary Information Navneet Sehgal. The recovery rate in Uttar Pradesh has increased up to 98.6 per cent.
