People Infected with Omicron Reaches 21 in India

A new variant of the corona virus is spreading rapidly in the country. Nine cases of Omicron, a new form of corona virus, have been reported in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The Omicron variant has been found in four people who returned from South Africa, all four of whom have been admitted to the hospital. Apart from this, the Omicron variant has also been confirmed in five more people who came in contact with these people. With these new cases, the total number of people found infected in the country has now gone up to 21.

Rajasthan has the maximum number of 9 patients. Here 4 members of a family had recently returned from South Africa. Omicron has been confirmed in 5 more people who came in contact with him. Earlier, a new variant was found in 7 people in one in Pune and in adjoining district Pimpri Chinchwad. In Maharashtra, the number of people infected with this variant has reached eight.

The first case of Omicron has also been reported in Delhi on Sunday. The infected have been admitted to the hospital. The hospitalized Omicron patient is showing symptoms of sore throat, fatigue and body aches. The infected had taken both doses of the vaccine, so only mild symptoms are visible on him.

Karnataka: First on Thursday, two patients were found in Karnataka. These include a foreigner who came to India in November.
Gujarat: The third case has been found in Jamnagar city of Gujarat. The person found infected with Omicron had come to Jamnagar from Zimbabwe on November 28.

New guidelines for travelers coming to the country
A new guideline has been implemented for international travelers from today amidst growing concern about the new variant of Corona, Omicron. The Center had issued these guidelines between November 28 and 30. It has been told that it will be necessary to conduct RT-PCR test of passengers coming from at-risk countries. Passengers will have to wait at the airport till the result is out. Additional RT-PCR facilities will be arranged at all airports.

Travel history to be mentioned in the form
Except in ‘at risk’ countries, passengers from other countries will be allowed out of the airport. They will have to do self-monitoring for 14 days. Countries that have been kept out of the danger category of Omicron, 5% of passengers coming from there will definitely be screened.
