After the reported drone attacks in Jammu and suspected surveillance by terrorist organisations, authorities in J&K’s Srinagar district on July 4 banned the use and possession of drones and other unmanned aerial vehicles in the capital Srinagar.
The Srinagar administration has issued guidelines regarding the use of drones in its order. It says that people who already have drones, they should submit it to their local police station. Keeping in mind the security reasons, the district administration has taken this decision. Also, it has been made clear in the guidelines that if government departments are using drones for any work, then the information will have to be given to the local police station.
Earlier such restrictions were imposed in Kathua and Rajouri. The administration in Kathua district on Friday banned the use of drones and other flying objects. This decision was taken in view of security after the recent drone attack on the Air Force station in Jammu.
Kathua District Magistrate Rahul Yadav said, “In order to avoid any doubts in the prevailing situation and to secure the airspace near important installations and highly populated areas, the use of drones and other flying objects has been banned. is.”
At the end of last month, a ban was imposed on the storage, sale, use and transportation of drones and small flying objects of any kind in Rajouri district. The order was issued on behalf of the office of the District Officer of Rajouri district.
It said that in view of the use of drones and flying objects by anti-national elements to cause harm, injury and risk to human life, the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir has prohibited any drone or small flying objects/toys. Storage, sale, use and transportation are banned.
Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir police are going around villages of the border areas and creating awareness amongst villagers regarding drones.
