There is good news for those who want to go to Phuket or are planning to go. People who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will be allowed to enter Phuket from 8 September. Phuket Governor Narong Woonsiu announced that domestic travelers who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 will be allowed to travel from 8 September.

Travelers from overseas have been able to enter the island province under the “sandbox” model, but with the rise of Covid-19 cases, Phuket authorities imposed strict restrictions on domestic entry.
What does it take to enter Phuket
Passengers will have to book and pay for their accommodation in advance.
They must show proof of their reservation to the checkpoint authorities when entering the island province.
Two doses of Sinovac, Sinopharm, Sputnik V approved from Thailand, or one dose of Sinovac should be followed by a single dose of AstraZeneca, or with just one dose of AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, or Johnson & Johnson.
The last dose should be given at least 14 days before admission.
In addition to showing proof of vaccination against the coronavirus, passengers must also have a negative result from a COVID-19 test, either an antigen or RT-PCR test, issued no earlier than 72 hours prior to arrival. Another COVID-19 test is also required for travelers staying in Phuket for more than nine days. The test will need to be done on the fifth day of their stay and at their own expense.

In the 24-hour period since the last count, the CCSA recorded 18,262 recoveries from the coronavirus. There are now 159,800 people receiving treatment for Covid-19. The number of active cases has been on a downward trend as the number of recoveries continue to exceed the number of new cases.
