Every day a large number of children are getting admitted in the hospitals. After Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, now in Delhi NCR too, cases of viral fever in children are increasing rapidly. Many such children are admitted in the private hospital of Malviya Nagar, Delhi, who have symptoms like viral fever spread in UP. There has also been an increase in dengue cases in Delhi.
Dr Suresh Kumar, MD of LNJP Hospital in Delhi has told that two children and two to three adults have been found dengue positive here. At present, 4 dengue patients are being treated in the hospital. He told that about 50 patients of viral fever are appearing in OPD every day. Whereas earlier this number was only 15 to 20.
In Firozabad, UP, the outbreak of viral and dengue fever is not taking its name to stop. After the death of two more children, the death toll has increased to 57. Firozabad, located 320 km from state capital Lucknow, has been battling an outbreak of dengue and deadly viral fever for the past three weeks, with most of the victims being children. According to officials, some cases have also been found in the neighboring districts of Mathura, Agra and Mainpuri. In the review meeting, CM Yogi Adityanath has ordered the district magistrates to increase proper treatment and health facilities.
At the same time, in Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh, 422 children have suffered from viral fever in a week. Many children are sick with pneumonia and typhoid. But there is no ICU facility for children here. According to doctors, three children are also in a coma condition. While three have been referred to another place in critical condition.
There is a shortage of beds in the children’s ward in the DMCH of Darbhanga, Bihar. 3 to 4 children suffering from viral and flu are being treated on one bed. People have demanded the government to improve the health system.
