West Bengal: Durga Puja Committees to get 50,000 Grant

Big events are organized every year in West Bengal on the occasion of Durga Puja. However, like last year, this time too due to Corona, such an event is also facing a lot of financial problems. Meanwhile, the Bengal government has announced to give financial amount to Durga Puja committee for additional expenditure.

The Chief Secretary of West Bengal says that the West Bengal government has decided to give Rs 50,000 to the worship committees this year. The state government will provide a grant of Rs 50,000 for the additional expenditure due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The West Bengal government will give this grant to each Durga Puja committee if they do not get sponsors.

For the second year in a row, the West Bengal government has announced a grant of Rs 50,000 to each Durga Puja committee. Chief Secretary HK Dwivedi on Tuesday also announced free licenses and 50 per cent discount on electricity bills for committees organizing Durga Puja this year.

Mamta said that Durga Puja is the biggest worship in the world and appealed to UNESCO to recognize it. Along with this, Mamta once again recited Chandi from the stage on this occasion and prayed for peace.

Mamta said that world class Durga Puja is held in Kolkata. He also stressed on vaccination of priests, dhakis or dhol players, pandal makers and all others associated with the puja in view of Durga Puja. He said that these people will have to be vaccinated compulsorily. Mamta said that during the survey it has been found that Rs 32,000 crore is spent during the puja and it provides employment to many people. So there will be no restriction on worship.

At the same time, this time the Nazrul Park Upgradation Committee of Baguihati area in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, has decided to install an idol of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee along with Goddess Durga, after which a controversy has erupted. Regarding this, the BJP leader has targeted CM Mamta.

BJP leader Arjun Singh has said that any politician who has made his ideal in Indian history has faced destruction. This is the history till date. Be it Mayawati or the big politicians of the South, any politician who has been worshiped has led to destruction.
