The Aam Aadmi Party has already started preparing for the Punjab Assembly elections. Meanwhile, the Aam Aadmi Party has made it clear that after winning the Punjab elections, it will give free electricity in Punjab like Delhi.
A day before Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s visit to Chandigarh, the AAP leader claimed that after winning the Punjab elections, 200 units of electricity would be given free to every family of every Punjab like Delhi. Those whose electricity bills have come in excess by mistake, their bills will be waived.
Electricity will be provided round the clock, although this work may take up to four years. The Chief Minister of Delhi said that the fulfillment of the announcements made is a guarantee of Kejriwal, not the promises of the Captain. With this, Kejriwal said that after two months, he will come to Chandigarh again and will reveal AAP’s strategy on the issue of unemployment in Punjab.
Kejriwal said there was no dearth of revenue in Punjab but it was being stolen on a large scale. He said that after the formation of AAP government, tightening the noose on sand mafia and liquor smuggling by collecting all the money, the current revenue of Rs.2 lakh crore will be brought to Rs.4 lakh crore.
Kejriwal alleged that power is expensive in Punjab due to secret agreements between the Captain government and power companies and if these agreements are corrected, giving free electricity is not a difficult task. Despite the generation of electricity and surplus power in Punjab, people are being given the most expensive electricity in the country.
He said that his government in Delhi is providing cheapest electricity and free electricity to the people even by buying electricity from outside sources. When the AAP government was formed in Delhi, then the power companies were in loss, but by canceling the agreement with them, the right system of electricity was made. On the same lines, if the AAP government is formed in Punjab, expensive agreements with power companies will be canceled.
