5G service can start soon

New-age communication service in the country i.e. 5G can be started this year. The government has approved 13 applications for 5G trials in the country. According to a report, Chinese companies such as Huawei and ZTE have been kept out of the 5G trial. The telecom department had received a total of 16 applications for 5G trials.

Government telecom company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has partnered with the Center for Development of Telematics (C-DoT) for the 5G trial. The Center for Development of Telematics is the Telecom Technology Development Center of the Government of India.
Bharti Airtel, Vodafone-Idea and Reliance Jio have partnered with vendors from Ericsson and Nokia. Partnering with different vendors has been done for all telecom circles.

Telecom companies will soon be given airwaves of 700 MHz band for 5G trials. However, some conditions will be included with this. According to the official, companies will have to comply with conditions like testing in urban and rural areas. Also special attention will have to be paid to the security of the network.

Telecom companies will be given strict warnings that the airwaves will only be used for trials. Commercial use of these waves should not be done at all. If companies violate these conditions, they will have to face serious consequences.
