BANGKOK, Thailand – The 6th International Ganesh Festival, organized by the Thai-Indian Community in Bangkok, took place on 7-8 September 2024. The event saw participation from approximately 200 Thai families and served as a platform for both devotion and community service.
The festival featured a range of activities, including Ganesh Puja ceremonies and sewa (service) initiatives. Prayers were offered for the well-being of people in Thailand, India, and across the globe.
Visarjan Ceremony on the Chao Phraya River
The two-day festival concluded with the Visarjan ceremony, during which the idol of Lord Ganesha was immersed in the Chao Phraya River. This traditional ritual marked the conclusion of the festival and was attended by a large gathering of devotees.
Cultural Highlights
A key feature of the festival was the cultural performance event titled DEVOTION, which showcased traditional music and dance. On 7 September 2024, Indo Thai News Presents Ganpati Bappa Morya was also part of the cultural program, further enriching the event’s artistic and spiritual atmosphere. The performances highlighted the cultural vibrancy of the festival and reflected the community’s enthusiasm and dedication.
The 6th International Ganesh Festival 2024 ended with an announcement that the 7th International Ganesh Festival will be held on 30-31 August 2025.
The festival, organized annually by the Thai-Indian Community in Bangkok, continues to strengthen cultural ties between Thailand and India while promoting unity and harmony.
