A major accident has happened in Kinnaur, Himachal Pradesh. Nine people have died due to bridge collapse in Sangla Valley. Kinnaur district SP Saju Ram Rana said that nine people have died and three have been injured. The Batseri bridge collapsed in this incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the families of those who lost their lives in the Kinnaur accident would be given an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund and Rs 50,000 for the injured.
Actually, a vehicle full of tourists going to Sangla came under the grip of the landslide. Tourists are being told of Chhattisgarh. The death toll may increase further. Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur tweeted, “The accident in Batseri, Kinnaur, due to hill cracking is heart-wrenching. The news of a vehicle carrying tourists, in which 9 died and 2 injured and 1 other passerby got injured, is very sad. May God grant peace to the departed souls and strength to the bereaved family. I spoke to the Kinnaur district administration and inquired about the accident and gave them proper guidelines. The administration has started relief work at the spot and immediate relief is being provided to the affected. May the injured persons get speedy recovery, I pray to God. peace.”
