Bangkok commuters just got a smoother and safer way to get around. This morning (October 1, 2025), the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) officially opened the new Skywalk connecting BTS Surasak Station to Bangkok Christian College in Sathorn. The elevated walkway is now open daily from 7:00 a.m. onwards.
A New 110-Meter Connection
The newly completed 110-meter-long Skywalk links BTS Surasak (S5) directly to the pedestrian overpass in front of Bangkok Christian College. The project was designed to encourage more people to use public transport, improve traffic flow in Sathorn, and make commuting safer and more convenient for students, parents, and office workers alike.
Safer Travel for Students and Commuters
One of the key benefits of the Skywalk is improved safety. Until now, students and parents had to cross busy Pramuan Road during the hectic morning rush. With the elevated walkway, pedestrians can now avoid dangerous traffic, reducing the risk of accidents while also helping to ease congestion on North Sathorn Road.
According to the BMA, the Skywalk will make daily commuting not just safer, but also more efficient by providing a direct connection between public transport and schools in the area.
Finished Ahead of Schedule
The project was initially scheduled to take 210 days, from July 7, 2025, to February 1, 2026. However, construction was completed an impressive 121 days ahead of schedule, allowing the public to enjoy the benefits much sooner.
A Step Toward Smarter City Travel
With this new addition, Bangkok continues to push for more walkable, commuter-friendly infrastructure that integrates seamlessly with the city’s BTS Skytrain system. The Surasak–Bangkok Christian Skywalk is expected to become a model for future pedestrian projects, offering both convenience and safety for daily travelers.
