Thailand is mourning the loss of Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha Narendiradebyavati, the eldest child of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn, who passed away on June 11, 2026, at the age of 47.
According to information released by the Bureau of the Royal Household, the Princess passed away at King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital after remaining unconscious and under intensive medical care since December 2022, when she suffered a severe cardiac condition.
The Bureau stated that her condition had deteriorated in recent weeks due to a serious abdominal infection, low blood pressure, cardiac arrhythmia, and abnormal blood clotting.
His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn has ordered that royal funeral rites be carried out with the highest honours in accordance with royal tradition. Her Royal Highness’s body will be enshrined at Phiman Rattaya Hall within the Grand Palace.
Throughout her life, Princess Bajrakitiyabha was widely recognized for her dedication to public service and humanitarian work. She also earned respect for her legal expertise and her contributions in various royal and diplomatic capacities, serving the Kingdom of Thailand with commitment and distinction.
The passing of the Princess has prompted an outpouring of sorrow and remembrance from people across the country, as many reflect on her lifelong service and contributions to the nation.
