Aditya Chopra, the owner of Yash Raj Films, a film production company of Hindi cinema, has announced direct cash transfer to the accounts of film workers troubled by the lockdown. Apart from this, he has also started a plan to provide ration of the month to the needy.
In the Corona transition period, in March last year, when the work of media and entertainment industry stopped, then even Aditya Chopra made the film.
The employees were helped by giving cash amount to the registered members of the unions. This time too, he has taken the initiative to purchase vaccines for these workers. He himself has announced to bear the expenses of the staff working in the entire film industry and for this he also wrote a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray.
Under this ‘Yash Chopra Saathi Initiative’, launched with the intention of helping thousands of daily wage workers of the film industry, an amount of Rs 5000 will be directly transferred to the account of women and senior citizens. Apart from this, every worker’s family will also be given a ration of a full amount of four members on behalf of the Foundation.
Yash Chopra Foundation is going to do this work of ration distribution through its NGO partner Youth Feed India. Employees desirous of cash assistance and ration will have to fill the online form on the foundation’s website (yashchoprafoundation.org).
