AIIMS in Delhi will test the second dose of Bharat Biotech’s Covid-19 vaccine for 2-6-year-old children. According to media reports, Bharat Biotech is going to administer the second dose of Covaxin to children between the ages of 2 and 6 next week as a Covid-19 vaccination for children. Significantly, in view of the third wave of the corona virus pandemic, the trial of Covid-19 vaccine for children is going on in the country.
Covid vaccine trial on 2-6 year olds next week
AIIMS Director Dr Randeep Guleria has told that the Covid-19 vaccine for children may be available in September. AIIMS Delhi is one of the centers to test the vaccine for under 18 years of age. The second dose of Covaxin has already been administered to children between the ages of 6 and 12 at AIIMS Delhi. In addition, the results of the human trial are expected in a month after the completion of trials for all age groups. The test is being done in three phases by dividing the children into categories according to the age of the children.
In view of the third wave of the Pandemic, children’s tests continue
After testing on the age group of 12-18 years and 6-12 years, it is currently being tested on the age group of 2-6 years. Meanwhile, the government has also informed the Delhi High Court that Zydus Cadila has completed human trials of its DNA-based COVID-19 vaccine, Zycov-D, for the age group of 12 to 18 years. It was told in the affidavit filed that this vaccine will be available soon after the statutory provisions. The central government said that achieving the target of vaccination in the shortest possible time is the top priority of the Center and all efforts are being made to reach it.
