Amazing Thailand Diwali Festival Bangkok 2024   

The Indian Association, Bharat Choice, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and partners invite everyone to join the largest celebration for the Indian community at the Amazing Thailand Diwali Festival Bangkok 2024. The event will take place from Monday, October 28, to Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Khlong Ong Ang in the “Little India” area of Phra Nakhon.

Diwali, known as the festival of lights, is a significant global celebration rooted in Indian traditions. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and holds great religious and cultural importance. Major cities worldwide, such as London, Dubai, Paris, Singapore, and New York, host grand Diwali festivals each year to promote good relations between countries and attract Indian tourists during the Golden Week.

This year marks the third celebration of the Diwali Festival in Bangkok’s Little India. The primary aim is to strengthen diplomatic and trade relations between Thailand and India, positioning Phahurat Road and Khlong Ong Ang as Thailand’s first cultural tourism landmark, “Little India.”

The festival’s opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday, October 29, graced by the presence of Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the Prime Minister, along with former Prime Minister Mr. Srettha Thavisin, the Minister of Tourism and Sports, the Indian Ambassador to Thailand, the Governor of Bangkok, and the Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand. Various community leaders, members of the Thai-Indian community, and religious figures will also attend.

Throughout the week, attendees can enjoy a range of activities, including:

– Grand cultural performances featuring Bollywood-style shows.

– A variety of savory and sweet dishes from renowned Maharaja-style Indian restaurants in Thailand.

– Worship ceremonies honoring Ganesha and Lakshmi for blessings of fortune and success.

– Shopping for Indian-style products, including sarees, jewelry, and cultural decor from well-known vendors.
