Bangkok Pride 2025 Draws 300K+ Supporters from All Over the World

The heart of Bangkok pulsed with pride, unity, and unstoppable color as over 300,000 people gathered for the Bangkok Pride Festival 2025, marking the start of Pride Month in Thailand under the theme “Born This Way.”

In a powerful show of solidarity, Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra joined the festivities, walking alongside cabinet ministers, LGBTQIAN+ leaders, and allies in a 3-kilometer parade that stretched from Suphachalasai National Stadium to CentralWorld.

Thailand’s Longest Pride Flag Makes History

The parade featured the country’s longest Pride flag—a breathtaking 200-meter banner that flowed through the city streets, symbolizing unity across identities and generations. The march was divided into seven powerful segments, each spotlighting vital issues such as marriage equality, healthcare access, environmental justice, and the cultural contributions of the LGBTQIAN+ community.

A Day of Dialogue, Celebration, and Progress

Beyond the parade, the Bangkok Pride Festival also served as a platform for advocacy and policy dialogue. Events such as the Bangkok Pride Forum 2025 and discussions at Siam Square’s main stage brought together voices from civil society, government agencies, and the private sector. Key themes included human rights, inclusive education, and Thailand’s growing pink economy.

Provincial Pride and a Nationwide Movement

In a historic gesture, Prime Minister Paetongtarn presented Provincial Pride Flags to members of the Pride City Network, extending the celebration and recognition of LGBTQIAN+ communities to all corners of Thailand. This act of unity highlighted the government’s goal of fostering Pride beyond Bangkok, ensuring that diversity is not just celebrated, but protected—everywhere.

A Message from the Prime Minister

On her official Facebook page, the Prime Minister shared a heartfelt message that resonated deeply with millions:

“Everyone is born to be their true self. They must be accepted for their rights, freedom, and identity. 🏳️‍🌈❤️ The government is committed to making every inch of Thailand a space of diversity and equality.”

This declaration echoes Thailand’s progressive steps, including the recent adoption of the Marriage Equality Law, solidifying the country’s commitment to legal and social recognition for all.

Thailand Leads the Way in LGBTQIAN+ Rights

The Bangkok Pride Festival 2025 was more than just a celebration—it was a bold statement. With leadership from the highest levels of government, support from every sector of society, and participation from hundreds of thousands, Thailand is positioning itself as a regional leader in LGBTQIAN+ rights and inclusion.

As Pride Month continues, events will take place across the country, inspired by the message of “Born This Way”—a reminder that everyone, everywhere, deserves to live with dignity, visibility, and love.
