Bangkok, Thailand — Stepping into the month of love, travelers are planning their romantic escapes and for international Airbnb guests, Thailand is on the radar. Recent Airbnb data revealed that Bangkok ranked in the top 12 of Airbnb’s top trending destinations globally for solo travelers, seeing more than 190 percent growth in searches for Valentine’s Day weekend this year compared to Valentine’s Day weekend last year.
Couples are also increasingly looking to Thailand for their romantic getaways with searches by duo travellers surging over 70 percent for Valentine’s Day weekend this year compared to Valentine’s Day weekend last year.
Amongst travellers from Thailand, Bangkok is the top trending destination for solo travellers with a whopping 654 percent increase in searches for Valentine’s Day weekend this year compared to Valentine’s Day weekend last year. Couples from Thailand, however, are prioritising Japan for their romantic trips with Tokyo and Osaka the top trending destinations for duo travellers, followed by Bangkok, Perth and Fujikawaguchiko.
