Today one year has been completed since the death of famous dance director Saroj Khan. In such a situation, filmmaker Bhushan Kumar has announced to make a film on his life under his banner ‘T-Series’.
Saroj Khan (71) passed away on this day last year. In his career spanning four decades, Khan choreographed more than 3,500 songs. The songs ‘Ek Do Teen’ from Madhuri Dixit starrer ‘Tezaab’, ‘Dhak Dhak Karne Laga’ from Beta film, ‘Dola Re Dola’ from Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film Devdas etc. Appreciated. Khan was also awarded the National Award thrice.
Acknowledging the contribution of Saroj Khan to the film industry, Kumar said that her journey in films deserves to be shown on the golden screen. Kumar said in a statement, “The public used to be mesmerized to see the actors performing the dance directed by Saroj ji. He revolutionized the field of choreography in Hindi cinema. His dance style had a story that helped every filmmaker. The public used to be drawn to the theaters to see his dance.
This journey of Saroj ji started when she was just three years old. The many ups and downs in life, and the success he got in the film world, the respect he got should be brought to the fore. He is grateful to her.
Raju Khan, also a choreographer, says he is thrilled to have a film on his mother’s life. He said, “My mother loved dancing and we have all seen how she dedicated her life to it. I am glad that I am following in his footsteps. My mother was loved and respected by everyone in the film world and it is an honor for us, for her family that now the world will see her story. I am happy that Bhushanji has decided to make a film on his life.
Saroj Khan’s daughter said that the film will not only tell about her film journey but also many things related to her personal life.
