From Thale Noi all the way down to Pak Pra Village of Phattalung is a connected marshy land known for their stunning stilted fishing nets (yor, in local dialect). This is Thailand’s largest waterfowl reserve; Thale Noi – a protected area under the International Ramsar Wetlands Preservation Treaty, is a great birding site that each year welcomes more than 180 species of local and migratory waterbirds. This is a great abundant place for birding and natural appreciating.
Charter a long-tail boat out into the lake is an option, but there is also a birdwatching tower to the north of the lake, and a part of the elevated road running from east to west in the far south of Thale Noi are also good options.
The famous stilted fishing platforms – or yor – is usually on top of a visitor’s list while in Phatthalung. These unique looking nets are hand-woven, with its mesh tiny enough to capture ‘Pla Look Brae’ – a type of small fish staple to this area.

Thale Noi Waterfowl Reserve – with its unique backdrop of the seasonal hot pink waterlilites – welcomes more than 180 species of local and migratory waterbirds each year. From herons to stork and from swamp hens to plumed egrets.
บรรยากาศที่สอง “อุทยานนกน้ำทะเลน้อย” บริเวณทะเลบัวแดง จะมีนกน้ำอาศัยอยู่มากมาย ทั้งเป็ดแดง เป็ดลาย นกอีโก้ง นกปากห่าง นอกจากนี้ยังมีควายทะเลที่มักจะลงมาเล่นน้ำให้เห็นอยู่เป็นประจำ
Phatthalung is also known for their lush paper bark tree forests (Pa Samed Khao). A laid-back boat trip through the mangrove forests is a way to appreciate the nature while also observing the local lifestyle in Pak Pra Village.
