BJP National Vice President Mukul Roy and his son Subhranshu Roy have returned home today after nearly four years. Mukul Roy, who left TMC and joined BJP in November 2017, joined West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee after a long discussion today.
On this occasion, Abhishek Banerjee, nephew of Mamta Banerjee, wore the party flag and hugged Mukul Roy. After this Mukul Roy said that it is good to come home. Bengal belongs to Mamata Banerjee and will remain so. I was not able to stay in BJP.
At the same time, Mamta Banerjee said that I am happy that Mukul has returned home. Many more leaders who have gone to BJP want to come back. We have never broken anyone’s party. We have not used agencies. Those who want to come are coming to the party. There is a place in TMC only for honest leaders.
TMC president Mamta said, “Those who criticized the party, BJP and those who betrayed the party before the elections for money will not return. They are traitors.”
Giving his first reaction after joining TMC, Mukul Roy said that Bengal has returned to its place again today. Bengal belongs to Mamata Banerjee and will remain so. He said that I was not able to stay in BJP, in the situation which is in Bengal now, no one will remain in BJP.
Let us tell you that for the last few days, Mukul Roy had kept distance from BJP. Let us inform that Trinamool Congress MP Abhishek Banerjee had reached the hospital on June 2 to see the ailing wife of Mukul Roy. It was only after this that speculation intensified that the political equation may change. Roy was General Secretary in Trinamool Congress before joining BJP. Recently, Abhishek Banerjee has been made the general secretary.
