BJP MP Babul Supriyo Quits Politics

BJP MP from West Bengal Babul Supriyo has announced to quit politics. He has announced this through his Facebook post. He said that even without coming into politics, one can do social work. In his Facebook post, he wrote that he is not going to any party. He said that no party, TMC, Congress or CPM has called him.

Babul Supriyo, BJP MP from Asansol Lok Sabha seat, wrote a long post on Facebook saying that he had informed Amit Shah and JP Nadda about his decision to quit politics in the last few days. He wrote, “I am grateful to him that he has inspired me in so many ways. I will never forget his love.” Babul further wrote, “The question will arise that why did I leave politics? Does it have anything to do with the departure of the ministry? Yes he is- some people should have it! Don’t want to worry, so if she answers the question, it will be right – it will give me peace too.

Babul Supriyo has said that there is a huge difference between 2014 and 2019. Then he was alone on BJP ticket, but today BJP is the main opposition party in Bengal. He has also pointed out some differences with the state unit, but added that the party will come a long way from here. You don’t need to be in politics to do social work.

Babul Supriyo was among the ministers who resigned before the recent Modi cabinet expansion. After his resignation, he had said, “I am certainly sad for myself.” Babul Supriyo shared his pain on social media shortly before the Union Cabinet expansion. He wrote on Facebook, “Yes, when there is smoke, there must be a fire somewhere. I am not able to take phone calls of my friends in the media, so let me tell it myself. Yes, I have resigned from the Council of Ministers has given. (I had earlier framed it as ‘asked to resign’, but this may not be the correct way of saying it.

Let us tell you that this time Babul Supriyo had also contested the assembly elections of West Bengal but could not succeed in winning. BJP had made him a candidate from Tollygunge assembly seat in West Bengal.
