Following a complaint by a local Congress leader, the Crime Branch has registered a case against Payal Rohatgi under sections 153,500 and 505(2) of the Indian Penal Code.
According to the complaint, the actress along with an unidentified person allegedly made a defamatory video about Mahatma Gandhi, former prime ministers Jawaharlal Nehru Gandhi, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi and other members of the Gandhi family and shared it on social media.
Regarding this matter, the official said that Congress leader and party’s Pune unit office-bearer Sangeeta Tiwari has taken cognizance of the video. After this, he has complained against Payal Rohatgi in the police.
