The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Tuesday cancelled Class 12 Board Exams 2021 on the backdrop of second wave of Coronavirus. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself.
The decision was taken after the PM was briefed on all possible options that have emerged following an extensive discussions with all states and other stakeholders.
PM Modi said that due to the ongoing second wave of Covid-19, several states have still opted for a lockdown. “Therefore, students, parents and teachers are naturally worried about the health of the students in the pandemic situation. During such testing times, students should not be forced to appear for exams in such a stressful situation.
PM has also directed officials to rollout a new “well-defined criteria” in order to prepare the results in a fair as well as time-bound manner.
