A cloud burst happened again in Uttarakhand. The latest case is of Devprayag in Tehri district. Many shops were destroyed due to cloud burst. The three-floor ITI building was also gutted. Cloud burst has caused a surge in the Santa river. Shops were closed due to the lockdown, so there was no loss of life or property.
Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat instructed the district administration and police officials to reach the spot and provide immediate relief to the affected people. A detailed report has been asked to report the loss due to the disaster. At the same time, Union Home Minister Amit Shah called Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat to take stock of the incident and offered all possible help.
This is the third cloudburst event in the month of May. Before this, there has been a cloudburst in Chamoli on 3 May and in New Tehri on 7 May.
