BCCI vice-president Rajiv Shukla said, “We will see if any suitable time can be found for the IPL event this year.” It may be September but for now it will only be speculation. The situation as of now is that we are not organizing the tournament.
The BCCI has taken this major decision after several team players and members have been consistently corona positive. The Governing Council of the IPL and the BCCI had an emergency meeting on Tuesday. After this meeting, a decision was taken to postpone the IPL immediately. The BCCI’s statement came after the league was postponed, saying it did not want to compromise the safety of the players, support staff and other members involved in the league.
