Culture Ministry Launches Competitions to Celebrate Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

The Ministry of Culture has launched three nationwide competitions for Patriotic Song Writing, Lullaby Writing and Rangoli Making on the occasion of AzadiKaAmritMahotsav. This contest will run for a few months as “#UnityInCreativity” and the winners will be rewarded. The competitions were announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Mann Ki Baat on October 24, 2021. Detailed guidelines for participation are available on the website of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ (AKAM) at amritmahotsav.nic.in. The objective of this initiative is to encourage participation so as to ensure genuine ‘people’s participation’.

These competitions were awarded by Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkarji for the Patriotic Song Competition, Oscar winner A.K. R. Rahman for the lullaby writing competition and Padma Shri Sudarshan Patnaik for the Rangoli making competition digitally introduced to the public. Various media units of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting including Ministry of Home Affairs, Minister of Culture, PIB, AIR, DD, BOC; MyGov, various Hon’ble Ministers and Ministries as well as citizens have given information about it.

It is an initiative of the Government of India, launched to celebrate 75 years of Progressive India. It is also celebrating the glorious history, people, culture and achievements of India. The festival is dedicated to the people of India, who play a vital role in bringing India here in its journey. The people of India also represent the social, political, cultural and economic identity of India. The festival also celebrates 75 years of Progressive India.
