Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha and West Bengal tomorrow to take stock of the damage caused by the cyclone Yass. The PM will first go to Bhubaneshwar to have a review meeting here. After this, Balasore, Bhadrak and East Midnapore will conduct an aerial survey and will hold a review meeting in Bengal.
The cyclonic storm ‘Yass’ hit the eastern coasts of the country on Wednesday. Yass caused havoc in Odisha, West Bengal and Jharkhand. More than 21 lakh people have been evacuated to safe places in the three states.
128 villages have been flooded in Balasore and Bhadrak districts of Odisha. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has announced to provide relief for these villages for seven days. Today, CM Naveen Patnaik conducted an aerial survey.
The West Bengal government has claimed that at least one crore people have been affected due to cyclone Yass. About eight people have been affected in Jharkhand.
