Bangkok, Thailand – The Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Embassy of India, Bangkok, celebrated the 75th Anniversary of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) with a heartwarming gathering of ICCR alumni and distinguished guests at its premises.
The event honored 75 years of ICCR’s legacy in promoting cultural diplomacy and educational exchange through the “Study in India” scholarship program. On this special occasion, notable ICCR alumni from Thailand shared their insightful and inspiring experiences of studying in India under the ICCR scholarship scheme:

Adding a touch of Indian classical elegance, the event featured captivating dance recitals by ICCR alumni artists. Mr. Ekkalak Nu-Ngoen and his group presented a mesmerizing Bharatnatyam performance, while Ms. Ingkarat Sivamatheewit showcased a graceful Kathak recital. Both performers also shared their transformative journeys and training experiences as ICCR scholars in India.
Delivering the opening remarks, Ms. Paulomi Tripathi, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Bangkok, highlighted the significance of the ICCR’s global educational mission. She emphasized how the ICCR scholarship program has strengthened cultural connections and educational bridges between India and countries like Thailand for over seven decades.
The celebration was attended by approximately 90 participants, including ICCR alumni, members of the Indian diaspora in Thailand, Thai academics, cultural enthusiasts, and invited dignitaries.
