Sherofji Saraswati Mahal
Located in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu, this library is one of the oldest libraries in Asia. This library is located in Thanjavur Palace Campus. There is a rare collection of palm leaf manuscripts here. These preserved books can also be read here. It is named in honor of the royal Maratha patron Sherofji. It is a unique library in itself.
Seshadri Iyer Memorial Hall
This library located in Bangalore is known for its beauty and immeasurable collection of books. The Diwan of Mysore from 1883 to 1901, Sir K. Built in memory of Seshadri. The library was established in 1915. There are about 3 lakh books and a separate department of Braille script has also been created, due to which even blind people do not lag behind in the acquisition of knowledge.
Connemara Public Library
This library in Chennai is one of the four National Depository Libraries in the country where one copy of all books, newspapers and periodicals is sent. It was founded in 1896 and houses a rare repository of centuries-old publications. This library also serves as a depository library for the United Nations. There is no book that is not found here.
Delhi Public Library
It was started as a UNESCO project in 1951. It is the busiest public library in Southeast Asia. Many branches, sub-branches of this library are spread all over Delhi and a collection of about 18 lakh books is present here. The library has a stock of 9,431 gramophones, records and cassettes. Bookworms visit this library in large numbers because all their needs are fulfilled by coming here.
