The Finance Ministry has banned the clerk recruitment exam of Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). Some states had opposed conducting these examinations only in Hindi and English medium. These states have also demanded to give the option of regional language in this examination. Now this examination has been postponed till the final decision is taken on giving the option of regional language.
Issuing a statement in this regard, the Finance Ministry said, “A committee has been constituted on the demand to conduct the clerk cadre examination in local/regional languages. The committee will look into the entire matter.” According to the statement of the ministry, “This committee will submit its report to the ministry in the next 15 days. Till then the ban on this examination will continue. The final decision will be taken after the recommendations of the committee and only then the examination will be conducted.” Will.”
In fact, IBPS had released a release last week regarding the recruitment examination of about 3,000 clerk level posts in 11 public sector banks. According to the release, provision was given to give this examination in Hindi and English medium only. After which many non-Hindi-speaking states opposed it. These states say that there should also be an option to give this exam in local languages.
Leader of Opposition in Karnataka and former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah lashed out at Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa and the central government over the language dispute in the banking examination. Along with this, he also demanded to give the option of regional language in the examination for Kannada people.
Congress leader Siddaramaiah said, “Narendra Modi is cheating the candidates here by not giving Kannada language option in IBPS exam. The release issued by IBPS regarding banking exam shows the anti-Kannada stand of BJP.” At the same time, he said that, “The central government should immediately take some action on this matter and ensure justice to the Kannada people.”
