Four Indian movies have been shortlisted for the 95th Academy Award, which is set to take place in March 2023.
The three different categories under which the Indian movies feature are:
- Best Feature Film International Category – Chhello Show (Gujarati movie)
- Best Original Song Category – Naatu Naatu from RRR (Telugu movie)
- Best Documentary Category- All That Breathes (Hindi) and The Elephant Whisperers (Tamil)
Best Feature Film International Category

The much-anticipated film The Chello Show, aka, The Last Film Show, is a Gujarati movie directed by Pan Nalin and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur and Dheer Moriya.
The film takes us through an extraordinary journey of a nine-year-old Samay, who is fascinated by cinema. Samay moves heaven and earth in pursuit of his 35mm dream after being touched by the magic of cinema.

The fiery number, Naatu Nattu, starring Alia Bhatt, Ram Charan and Jr NTR, is shortlisted in this category.
The song is from the second highest-grossing film of the year, RRR. The movie is a period drama directed by the incredible, visionary director SS Rajamouli.
Best Documentary
The two Indian movies under this category are:
All That Breathes, a critically acclaimed documentary directed by Shaunak Sen, found a much-deserved spot amidst the unparalleled list of impressive international documentaries.
