Goa Extends Covid Curfew Till August 2

The Goa government has extended the curfew implemented in the state regarding Corona till August 2. In view of the increasing cases of corona, curfew was imposed in Goa for the first time on 9 May, since then it has been extended several times. However, since then the government has given many exemptions for the people and businesses in the state.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant tweeted on Sunday and informed about the extension of curfew till August 2. 75 new cases of infection were reported in Goa on Sunday and 6 people died. The South Goa district administration on Monday issued detailed guidelines regarding coronavirus curfew in the state.

These things/activities are allowed during curfew

  • Drug stores and drug related activities.
  • Bars and restaurants allowed to open from 7 am to 9 pm with 50% seating capacity. Permission to open indoor gym with 50% capacity.
  • Sports complex without spectators.
  • Banks, Insurance, Custom Clearance, ATM etc.
  • Permission to open religious place with maximum number of 15 persons with compliance of Covid rules.
  • All medical and health services/institutions will remain operational.
  • All industries/factories and related activities.
  • Central and State Government Offices.
  • Power generation, Postal and courier offices and related activities, LPG cylinder services.
  • Hotel and hospitality for inhouse guest, resident, employee.
  • Print, electronic media, telecommunications, Internet services and other related activities.
  • Following activities/programs/facilities will be banned in South Goa district from 26th July to 2nd August
  • Shops will remain closed from 7 pm to 7 am (home delivery of all items except liquor will be allowed full time)
  • Auditorium/Community Hall or similar places.
  • Casino, Waterpark/Amusement Park, Spa/Massage Parlor Cinema Hall, Theatre, Multiplex, Weekly Market.
  • Schools, colleges and coaching institutes for the students. However, with the approval of the government, it will be allowed to conduct competitive examinations.
  • Only 100 people or 50% of the hall capacity will be allowed for any social/political/educational gathering or marriage function.
  • .Only those who show Covid-19 negative report maximum 72 hours before will be allowed to enter Goa. In case of medical emergency, admission will be available on showing proof.
