Gopal Datt Brings the House Down in Bangkok with ‘Aur Karo Theatre’

Bangkok, Thailand — The Indian and Thai-Indian community in Bangkok were treated to a vibrant celebration of Hindi theatre and comedy as acclaimed actor and comedian Gopal Datt took centre stage at The Westin Grande Sukhumvit with his much-loved musical comedy show, ‘Aur Karo Theatre’.

Presented by Indo Thai News in association with Kreative Juices, the show drew a full house of enthusiastic fans and special guests, including H.E. Nagesh Singh, Ambassador of India to Thailand, along with other dignitaries from the Indian community.

Best known for his quick-witted charm on Farzi Mushaira with Zakir Khan, Datt delivered a 90-minute theatrical performance packed with sharp satire, heartfelt shayari, and punchline-rich storytelling. He was joined on stage by talented co-performers Siddharth Padiyar and Shantanu Herlekar, who added depth and dynamism to the performance.

The evening began with food, drinks, and buzzing anticipation, before the audience settled in for a unique live theatre binge — unapologetically Hindi, unapologetically hilarious. As Gopal Datt aptly put it, “Aapbeeti suna raha hoon!” — and that personal touch resonated deeply with attendees, drawing laughs and applause.

‘Aur Karo Theatre’ showcased the power of Hindi-language performance art abroad, uniting the diaspora through humour and shared cultural experiences. This was more than a comedy night — it was a celebration of identity and theatre in its most relatable, heartfelt form.
