The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has ordered social media companies to remove the news of the Indian variant of the corona virus on their platform.
A letter has been written by the government to all the social media companies asking them to delete all the news and posts from their platform in which the B.1.617 variant of Corona has been called the Indian variant.
B.1.617 is a new variant of Corona but it is not right to call it Indian. It is completely wrong to call B.1.617 as an Indian variant. Even WHO has not called this variant as Indian variant,
To call any variant of Corona an Indian variant without any fact is to tarnish the image of the country. At the same time, an official of a large social media companies says that removing thousands of millions of content from the platform simultaneously is a very difficult task.
