Government will not provide free grain to migrant workers

The central government of India ruled out the possibility of giving free food grains to migrant workers this time.  He says that like last year, this time the lockdown has been no panic nor complete national lockdown.

The government, however, has started giving additional free food grains to 80 crore ration card holders for two months in May and June under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.

Food Secretary Sudhandhu Pandey said that this time there is not as much problem of migrants as it was last year.  This time a lockdown has been imposed at the local level.  Industries are working.  The migrants who have gone to their villages are being given rations through the state government or the Center.
