Heavy Rains in Mumbai, Major Areas of City Waterlogged

It has been raining intermittently in Mumbai since this morning, due to which water has started filling in many low-lying areas. Roads were flooded in Andheri, Kurla, Hindmata, Sion, and Chembur.

Andheri subway and Malad subway had to be closed due to water. The rain also affected the movement of local trains. Local service on Harbor line between CST and Mankhurd has come to a standstill. Due to rain in Shastrinagar of Goregaon, water has been filled up to the waist in the colony. Many vehicles have sunk.

Local is running late between Vidyavihar-Kurla. Local is also 20-25 minutes late on Trans Harbor line. The Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain today, with heavy rain at some places.

Mithi river is flowing above the danger mark in Mumbai due to heavy rains. In view of the danger of flood, about 1200 people living near the river have been shifted to BMC school.

The entire road of Sion Gandhi Market has gone under water, vehicles are stopping. The road going from Sion Gandhi Market to Kurla has been blocked by traffic till Dadar, Sion station is flooded with water everywhere.

Let us tell you that the IMD had increased the alert level from ‘Orange’ to ‘Red’ on the previous day. Intermittent rains have continued in the city since Tuesday night, due to which many areas have also been flooded. National Weather Forecasting Center scientist R. K. Genmani said that a ‘red alert’ has been issued for Mumbai.

Water has been flooded in different areas of Mumbai after the rain since this morning. After this, once again BMC is under question. Local people say that due to not cleaning the drains properly, the water is not able to drain properly. The slope areas are flooded with water. Due to which people are facing lot of trouble in movement.
