Vientiane, LAO PDR – In a momentous celebration of regional cooperation and visionary leadership, Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the opening ceremony of the international conference “Building Healthier Futures: 25 Years of Thai–Lao Collaboration in Medical and Public Health Capacity Building” at Holiday Inn & Suites, Vientiane, Lao PDR.
This landmark event, held under the esteemed patronage of Her Royal Highness, marked not only a quarter-century of impactful partnership between Thailand and Laos in the fields of medicine and public health, but also paid tribute to the Princess’s 70th birthday—a symbol of her enduring commitment to humanitarian causes.
Among the distinguished attendees was Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA), who had the honor of an audience with Her Royal Highness and took part in the conference activities.
Spanning two days from 22–23 April, the conference welcomed participants from across sectors to share innovative research, field experience, and academic insights. Jointly organized by the Office of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn’s Projects, Mahidol University, TICA, the Royal Thai Embassy in Vientiane, and the Ministry of Health of Lao PDR, the event featured seminars, panel discussions, and engaging exhibitions.
More than a formal gathering, the conference was a heartfelt reflection of the deep-rooted friendship between Thailand and Laos—and a vision for a healthier, more connected future in Southeast Asia.
