The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in India has reported an increase in COVID cases since yesterday. As of January 8, 2022 (8:00 IST), there has been a total of 138,729 new cases reported across India.
Maharashtra has reported 40,925 cases followed by West Bengal registering 18,213 cases, and Delhi stands at 17,335 cases at this time. This is the second day that the cases crossed the 100,000 mark in a while.
MOHFW has also released an update on the traveling guidelines for those who wish to enter the country. All travelers will be required to submit an accomplished self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal. In addition, they must upload a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report conducted within 72 hours before their trip. Finally, they must submit a declaration regarding the authenticity of the report and liability for prosecution if found otherwise.
