India – Mekong SME Internationalization Program is aimed at improving the regional integration in the South East Asia Region by providing assistance to SMEs for internationalizing in India, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. Adhering to India’s Act East Policy and other bilateral trade agreements, the program is built with a view to provide SMEs training for capacity building and exposure to emerging markets.
In order to boost connectivity and increase trade between the South Asian countries, Asian Development Bank has identified the key role of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to play in the industrial development of the region and contribute towards GDP growth of the region and employment generation.
Through this program, SMEs in the region will have a unique opportunity to gain market information and mentorship, connect with trade partners through matchmaking trips; and diversify their exports or better link up to the global value chains centered around East Asia.
