Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi started the centenary ceremony of Chauri-Chaura Kand in Gorakhpur through video conferencing on Thursday. In memory of this historic incident, the Uttar Pradesh government is celebrating this ceremony. Even on this occasion, PM Modi did not forget to mention the farmers. He said that there is a farmer behind the country’s progress and they also played a key role in Chauri-Chaura struggle.
Modi said that in the last six years we have taken several steps to make the farmers self-reliant. 1,000 and Mandis will be linked to e-Nam to make the mandis beneficial for the farmers.
